Set server connection

Print this Topic Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

The connection to the Total Seller Server and database can be configured in the workspace System > Extras > Server Connection or as you start Total Seller for the first time.

Depending on the product version, you can choose between several options:

Demo mode

Select the demo mode when you want to test Total Seller with sample data. Choose also these settings if you lack a license number for Total Seller. Existing data is saved and you can exit the demo mode at any time.

Standalone

All data is stored locally on the computer where the Total Seller Client application is installed. No installation of the Total Seller Server is required. This option is not suitable for installations with several work sites.

Local

The Total Seller Client application and the Total Seller Server are installed on the same machine. Therefore, the Client application accesses the server locally and needs no network connection.

LAN

The Total Seller Server is installed on a computer on the network and the Total Seller Client applications installed on other computers access the server over the network. Enter the computer name or IP address of the Total Seller Server on your network. You can also automatically search for the name of the server by clicking on the Search icon next to the field and Total Seller attempts to determine the name automatically.

WAN or Internet

If the Total Seller Server is not installed in the same network - for example, at two different locations - you can use a remote connection such as the Internet to access the Total Seller Server. Enter the full name or the IP address and the shared port on the remote computer. You also need to specify the password you use with the Total Seller Server for remote access.

Remote access must be configured and enabled beforehand in the Total Seller Server. Please refer to the help documentation for the Total Seller Server.
